This one day course is designed for newly starting staff. It alleviates the need for the senior staff to shadow/mentor someone for days to achieve their induction programme. The course includes the following and is certificated once the newcomer has completed the care homes own criteria (which we will have a copy of) :
Areas covered include:
- Fire
- Local Policies & Procedures
- Moving & Handling
- Food Hygiene
- Protection of Vulnerable Adults (POVA)
- Confidentiality
- Uniform Policies
The newly started staff member should then be able to commence work having identified the fire exits and any other Health & Safety requirements for the care home. This course "frees up" senior staff to get on with their job in your very busy care home yet gives the new comer four certificates to last one year as required by the Care Quality Commission (CQC). It enables the new staff member to contribute immediately with having full knowledge of the care homes procedures.
